The museum of the falling daughter aims to question national and patriarchal narratives of the museum through re-imagining it as a domestic space. What is kept in storage and behind closed doors? What if critical articles from the museum archive are seen as family albums? What haunts the museum? We invite you for a day at the museum to listen to the whispers from behind paintings and closed doors, search through the museum archives and construct alternative museum narratives. The program includes an experiential workshop combining movement and writing practices lead by by residents Seta Astreou-Κarides, Belinda Papavasiliou and Miriam Gatt interwoven with readings curated by art-historian Ioulita Toumazi. A humble lunch will also be prepared and shared in the museum’s kitchen, feel free to bring something to share. The workshop is open to all with no prior experience in movement/writing required. This gathering has a limited capacity. Please wear comfortable clothes for moving.
